ARCH 4420.1 Architectural Design Graduation Studio VI investigates urban water as a shared civic, ecological, and spatial resource through the theme “Hydrological Commons: Reclaiming Urban Water as Public Space.” Addressing flooding, drought, heat, pollution, and coastal vulnerability, the studio asks students to develop site-specific architectural and urban proposals that integrate resilience, public accessibility, and collective stewardship. The design process progresses from environmental and social analysis to conceptual, programmatic, spatial, structural, and tectonic development. Structured around the questions “Why?”, “What?”, and “How?”, the studio is supported by iterative critiques, three panel reviews, and a final submission using advanced architectural representation techniques.
