PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI
Productive Layers : Water based Agriculture project is a community-based agricultural project located in Loa Kulu, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The project responds to post-mining landscapes, water pollution, disaster risks, and the loss of agricultural productivity by creating a layered system that combines water management, vertical farming, and community spaces.
The design follows the natural slope of the site through terraces and retaining walls, where water is collected, guided, reused, and integrated into the spatial experience. Vertical farming is introduced as a new productive system that supports food production during environmental risks and limited land conditions. The project also creates learning and workshop spaces that support women and local communities through agriculture, production, and shared knowledge.
Productive Layers: Water Based Agriculture, Endonezya’nın Doğu Kalimantan bölgesindeki Loa Kulu’da konumlanan topluluk odaklı bir tarım projesidir. Proje, madencilik sonrası oluşan bozulmuş peyzajlara, su kirliliğine, afet risklerine ve tarımsal üretkenliğin azalmasına; su yönetimini, dikey tarımı ve topluluk kullanımına yönelik kamusal mekânları bir araya getiren katmanlı bir sistem önerisiyle yanıt vermektedir.
Tasarım, arazinin doğal eğimini teraslar ve istinat duvarları aracılığıyla takip etmekte; suyun toplanması, yönlendirilmesi, yeniden kullanılması ve mekânsal deneyimin bir parçası hâline getirilmesini sağlamaktadır. Dikey tarım, çevresel riskler ve sınırlı arazi koşullarında gıda üretimini destekleyen yeni bir üretim modeli olarak önerilmektedir. Proje ayrıca tarımsal üretim, eğitim ve bilgi paylaşımını teşvik eden öğrenme ve atölye mekânları aracılığıyla kadınları ve yerel toplulukları güçlendirmeyi hedeflemektedir.
